Toto, I don't think we're in Upstate NY anymore

It’s crunch time here at 10 Rosewood Drive.  I have just a few days until I take off on a jet plane (my substitute for Dorothy’s tornado) from Rochester airport at 6:10 am on Tuesday morning.  Any well-wishers willing to come see me off?  Yea- don’t be crazy- I’ll barely be conscious at that point either.  I currently have approximately 17 things haphazardly thrown into a suitcase that sits open in our guest room, so I have some serious packing to do in the days to come.  I’m so excited about the next 10 months, but of course also experiencing some apprehension and anxiety- calm, level-headed preparation just isn’t how I function.

This is the first time I have attempted a blog, and my efforts at consistent writing in the past have been somewhat less than successful- whether in jounral or correspondance form.  I’m hoping this will kind of kill those 2 birds with one stone….and since I’m all about following my murderous inclinations, please wish me luck in this venture and feel free to harass me if I slack about writing!
